A beautiful thatched pub near Blandford
Situated on the A31 between Poole and Dorchester, the World’s End is a beautiful traditional, thatched country pub, just oozing character.
Whilst the original part of the pub dates back to the 14th Century and was once the oldest pub in Dorset, the pub was sympathetically rebuilt in 1991 after a fire, so although it looks 400 years old it isn’t. Indeed, the ceiling of the original Worlds End was adorned with the signatures of many American servicemen who visited while waiting for D-Day and these are now commemorated by the framed signatures on the current ceiling.
Today the pub combines an extensive outside patio area, ideal for the summer, with a traditional interior featuring oak beams, log fires and cosy eating areas for guests to relax and unwind.

One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.
We think ours are the best (apart from Mum’s!) and we spend all week looking forward to them. Freshly roasted every Sunday morning and served with seasonal veg, Yorkshires, roasties and gravy homemade in our kitchen.View our menu
Our delicious ‘Rocket Espresso’ has come from our friends at Extract Coffee Roasters. It’s a combination of fantastic coffee and good ethics. This particular blend comprises 100% Arabica coffee beans from one farm in Colombia and a co-operative project in Peru, who work to directly benefit the families and communities involved.Find out more
